It resembles a Laser but is only 12 ft in length, has a hull weight of 100 lbs., is fitted with a centre lead mainsheet traveller for ease of de-powering and has controls for outhaul, cunningham and kicker lead to either side deck. This is done to make the boat and its rigging easier to handle, adjust and sail by both young and lightweight adult sailors. In the UK it is marketed by Topper International as the next step up from the Topper and Optimist classes.
